MOSCOW – Russian demand for motor oils used by on-road vehicles stagnated the past couple years but is projected to make a slow recovery in 2017, according to a domestic consultancy predicted recently. Tiarco Expands its Dalton Plant

Specialty chemicals company Tiarco is expanding its Dalton, Georgia, chemical production facility, which makes various component chemicals used to manufacture lubricants, the company announced Monday. Construction on the facility began during the first quarter of 2017 and is expected to be completed by the second quarter of next year. Specialty chemicals manufacturer DuBois Chemicals acquired Blue Star Lubrication Technology, an industrial lubricants provider, the company announced late last month. Lanxess revised its organizational structure, following its acquisition of Chemtura in April. The lubricant and flame retardant additives businesses were transferred to Lanxesss Additives business unit, while the rubber additives and colorant additives businesses now belong to the Rhein Chemie business unit. Subject to successful conclusion of a lubricants distribution agreement, ExxonMobil Petroleum and Chemical B.V.B.A. in Belgium will appoint WP Group as an authorized Mobil lubricants distributor for the United Kingdom effective Sept. 1, covering the majority of England, Scotland and parts of Wales.
