Lubricants and metalworking fluids manufacturer and distributor Eastern Oil Co. completed a 10,000 square foot facility expansion and renovation project in Michigan.

The expansion in Pontiac includes a new laboratory to conduct research and development projects, quality control and technical service activities.

The lab will be utilized for the enhancement and expansion of all of our product lines, Bill Schrader, Eastern Oils director of sales and marketing, told Lube Report. Specifically, we were looking to increase our capacity as well as our capability from a testing and services standpoint.

The expansion also includes new administrative offices and conference rooms. The rest of the project consists of new offices for warehouse and production staff along with new shipping and receiving docks.

The company said the total upgrade will also increase manufacturing and storage capacity to help keep up with the companys increasing market share of lubrication products and services.

Schrader said most of the companys growth has been due to the resurgence of the U.S. automotive industry. Certainly being a Midwest-based company, everything goes back to automotive, he said. Weve been fortunate in that the growth has been relatively balanced in all of our segments, across the board.

Eastern Oil serves commercial, industrial and automobile manufacturing markets throughout North America.
