DuBoisChemicals acquired Angler Industries for an undisclosed price – a deal it says will strengthen its industrial cleaning, surface treatment and metalworking fluids segments.

DuBois, based in Sharonville, Ohio, said in a press release last week that purchasing Sterling, Conn.-based lubricants company Angler will increase its market share of metalworking fluids and specialty cleaning products in the Northeast, and also advance its foray into international markets.

The acquisition will not only extend DuBois line of surface treatment and cleaning solutions to Anglers existing sales team and customer base, but will also increase DuBois manufacturing capacity and laboratory capabilities, DuBois said.

Angler also reaps a benefit in the deal, said former co-owner John Offredi. “The DuBois [portfolio] extends our current industrial product line, especially in paint pre-treatment. It also opens new arenas for our customers in waste water treatment, lubrication and cooling tower treatments as well as adding synergy between metalworking product lines.

Owned by private equity firm Aurora Capital Group, DuBois manufactures metalworking fluids and surface treatment products. DuBois purchased metalworking and industrial fluids manufacturer Perkins Products in 2010 and metalworking fluids and specialty chemicals company Galaxy Associates in 2012.
