China, North America and Europe were the top grease manufacturers in 2015, representing 71 percent of worldwide production, according to results from the National Lubricating Grease Institutes Grease Production Survey Report. Counterfeit Lube Operation Busted in Moscow

Russian police raided a facility in southern Moscow that allegedly was producing counterfeit motor oils, according to the citys ministry of internal affairs. The police discovered a counterfeited motor oil of a popular brand, the ministry said in a news release yesterday, after the raid. Russian MWF Plant Explosion Kills 1, Injures 4

One person was killed and four others injured by an explosion last week at a metalworking fluids and chemicals complex operated by Ivhimprom in Ivanovo, Russia, according to the Emergency Situation Ministry for Ivanovo Oblast. The June 23 accident was triggered by a sudden decompression in a gas compressor unit, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry for Ivanovo Oblast reported. More Finished Lube Price Hikes

Valvoline, Phillips 66, Kleen Performance Products and Omni Industries notified U.S. customers of upcoming price increases on finished lubricants. Factors cited included rising costs for base oils and other raw material related to manufacturing, distribution and packaging. Valvoline will raise prices up to 6 percent effective July 5 on branded lubricants. Phillips 66 will hike prices about 6 percent effective Aug. 1. Kleen Performance Products will mark up blended oils by 6 percent to 15 percent effective July 8. Omni Industries will bump up prices on bulk and packaged finished lubricants by 3 percent to 5 percent effective July 1, following a previous increase that went into effect in May.
