Iran Base Oil Exports Bypass U.A.E.

Iranian companies are shipping API Group I base oils direct to customers, sidestepping ports in the United Arab Emirates as the United States tightens sanctions on the Islamic Republic's exports.

Hill Corp. Opened Base Oil Rerefinery

Hill Corp. recently finished building a used oil rerefinery and a small grease unit at its lubricant blending plant in Shymkent, in southern Kazakhstan. The company says these are the initial steps in the country's fledgling industry for collection and processing of waste oils.

PIB Plant Planned in Saudi Arabia

South Korea's Daelim Industrial will build an 80,000 tons per year polyisobutene plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, that is expected to come on stream in 2024, under a memorandum of understanding reached with Saudi Aramco and Total.

Stourport-on-Severn, United Kingdom-based waste lubricating oil collector Slicker Recycling acquired waste oil collector J Vant Ltd. this week.
