EU New Car CO2 Emissions Trend Upwards

Average carbon dioxide emissions by new cars in the European Union grew 1.8 percent in 2018 - the second consecutive year of growth after a steady decline between 2007 and 2016, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association.

Energy Demand Forecast to Fall in Europe

Energy demand will decrease 11 percent in Europe and 5 percent in Russia and the Caspian region between 2017 and 2040, according to a new forecast by ExxonMobil. At the same time, the study predicts increases of 37 and 32 percent, respectively, in Africa and the Middle East.
