Sepahan Oil Co., Irans largest base oil refiner, signed a contract with Germanys EDL Anlagenbau GmbH to upgrade base oil and wax production facilities at Sepahans Isfahan refinery.

Greif Inc. opened a new multi-million dollar steel drum production plant in Kaluga, Russia, the company announced last week. The facilitys construction is part of plans to expand the companys food-grade lubricant packaging production and increase its presence in Russia.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys Vessel General Permit created a global standard that has drastically affected the marine lubes industry by requiring environmentally acceptable lubricants, a United Kingdom-based industry insider told a conference in Chicago last month.
