A glimpse at a new packaging line that will boost the production efficiency of Gazpromneft-Lubricant’s blending plant in Omsk, Russia. The line packages finished lubricants in metallic canisters and barrels of various sizes.

This new equipment increases the capacity of the filling line from 40 tons per shift to 100 tons per shift. The new system will allow us to increase the output volumes of the finished products, the company said.

The Omsk blending plant has capacity to produce 110,000 t/y of finished lubes. The facilitys packaging capacity is substantially more than the production capacity. Officials said the company will not fully utilize that capacity but will deploy it as needed to accommodate overall operations.

The new equipment is not intended to increase the numerical capacity of the filling line but to boost the production efficiency by faster supply of the finished products and fast response to the growing needs in the Russian and international lubricant markets, the company said.

We are constantly [working to] perfect our production process because we understand that only by following the path of constant improvement we can respond to the highest market demands for the modern lubricating materials, the plants general director, Vasiliy Chugunov, said in a news release.

The new packaging line can fill containers ranging from 1 liter to 1,000 liters.

In addition to the blending and filling line, the complex in Omsk includes storage facilities for raw materials and finished products. The finished products warehouse has 10,000 tons of storage capacity, the company said.
