Motor Oil Demand Rising in Russia

A market research firm projects Russias motor oil demand to grow at a compound annual rate of 1.6 percent from 811,000 tons in the July 2017 to July 2018 period to almost 878,000 tons by the July 2022 to July 2023 period, boosted by increased demand for passenger cars and buses.

Timken Buys Lube Equipment Maker

Timken Co. reached an agreement to acquire Pegnitz, Germany-based automatic lubrication system supplier Beka Lubrication for approximately $165 million, the company announced this week.

Evonik Boosts Surfactants Production Potential

Evonik has expanded its capacity to produce C13 alcohol isotridecanol at its Marl, Germany, chemical complex. The chemical is used to make surfactants that can be used in lubricants and metalworking additives.

Gazprom Neft and the government of the Khabarovsky Krai announced an agreement on substituting imported products with the Russian oil majors lubricants and service fluids in the region, which is in the countrys Far Eastern economic region. German independent lubricants blender Fuchs will supply lubricants and cooling lubricants to cutting machine tools manufacturer DMG Mori Aktiengesellschaft, tailored to its machines and processes, as a certified DMG Mori Qualified Products Program partner.
