Hyundai Shell Base Oil, a joint venture between Hyundai Oilbank and Shell, announced last week that it is completing a 250,000 metric tons per year expansion at its API Group II base oil plant in Daesan, South Korea.

The Myanmar government will begin quality checks on fuel and lubricating oils imported into the country before they are allowed to be sold starting in September, according to news group Eleven Myanmar. The MyanmaPetroleum Products Enterprise will be in charge of the inspections. SK Lubricants and Spanish soccer team FC Barcelona agreed to a three-year regional partnership deal on Monday. The South Korean company becomes the teams official lubricants partner and may use the teams logo and images of players in promotional material across South Korea, China, Russia, Thailand and Vietnam.
