Australian independent motor oils blender Nulon has submitted plans to build a $10 million, 10,696 square meter production and warehousing factory in western Sydney to replace its smaller and aging facility nearby. The company said it had outgrown its Moorebank facility.
Nulon said in its development application to the New South Wales planning authority that the Australian-owned automotive aftermarket company offers a range of more than 150 high performance products
The development application said the operations will comprise blending and production, bottling and packaging, storage and bulk fluid delivery facilities. The company said the facility is designed to accommodate future jobs growth to allow for as many as 100 jobs onsite. Nulon said it plans to ship products nationally via road and rail and internationally from Sydneys sea port.
The companys products include full synthetic engine oils, diesel engine oils, gear and differential oils, power steering fluids, brake fluids and automatic transmission fluids. Nulon also has a range of aerosol products.
Local residents have expressed concerns about the prospect of manufacturing and/or storage of oil-based products and aerosols at the Bringelly Road Business Hub in Leppington, according to local news reports. Homes are situated on two of the facilitys site boundaries.
The public doesnt like it, a spokesman for facility developer CIP Constructions told Lube Report Asia, adding that CIP had consulted with the community over the weekend and planned to respond to concerns in a written submission to the department of planning by the end of this month. He said approval could take anywhere from two weeks to three months after that. Nulon was unavailable for comment.
