Sinopec Upgrades Maoming Plant

The base oil plant at Sinopecs refinery in Maoming, China, has completed an expansion and upgrade that gives it capacity of 400,000 metric tons per year, including 300,000 t/y of API Group III. The oil and gas giant called it the first plant to make Group III using Chinese wax isomerization technology.

Asia Dominated 2015 Grease Production

More than half of all grease produced during 2015 was made in the Asia-Pacific region, according to the National Lubricating Grease Institutes Grease Production Survey Report, which was released last week.

Hascol Builds Blend Plant

Malaysia Delays B10 Implementation

Amid concerns about biodiesel compatibility with motor vehicle engines in Malaysia, the countrys Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities agreed to phase in implementation of its B10 biodiesel program and to consult further with automakers, the ministry said in a June 20 statement.
