Chinese Automaker Opens Blending Plant

Most car companies rely on lube producers for their factory-fill engine oils, but one Chinese automaker is committed to making its own. In late April, a lube-producing arm of Dongfeng Motor Corp. opened its third blending plant in Shiyan, Hubei province.

Hyrax Inks Sri Lanka Deal

Hyrax Oil, of Malaysia, will construct a blending plant in Sri Lanka to supply lubricants for national oil company Ceylon Petroleum Corp. as part of a 20-year deal signed by the companies this month.

Fuchs Plans Bigger China Plant

Fuchs Petrolub is building a new lubricants blending plant in Suzhou, Chinas Wujiang district to replace a smaller existing plant in Shanghai. The new facility, expected to open in 2018, will offer several benefits including favorable logistics and proximity to customers, the company said.

Gulf Posts Jump in Profits

Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd. reported a 38 percent jump in its fourth quarter net profit, thanks to sales growth across all key segments.

Germany-basedEvonik named Jen-Leung Wang manager of its oil additives business in China. Wang was global wax modifiers business director for the oil additives unit.
