JXTG Delays Construction of PIB Plant

JXTG said it has delayed construction of a polyisobutylene plant in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Announced in mid-2016, the plant was originally scheduled to start commercial production in October this year.

ExxonMobil Completes Singapore Upgrade

ExxonMobil announced Wednesday that it completed an API Group II upgrade of one of its Singapore base oil plants and expects to supply the new output to customers in the third quarter this year.

Grease Output Up in Asia, Down in China

Lubricating grease production in China appears to have continued its decline in 2018, according to the National Lubricating Grease Institutes yearly survey, which was released this week. Meanwhile, Japan, India and Pacific and Southeast Asian countries saw increases in their production for the year.

Idemitsu Builds Blending Plant in China

Japan's Idemitsu Kosan Co. began construction of a lubricant blending plant in Huizhou, Guangdong province, China, the company announced Wednesday.
