New Grease Plant Starts Up in Kansas

A joint venture between Japanese grease maker Kyodo Yushi and its American partner Lubrication Engineers began operating a new grease plant in Wichita, Kansas, last week, Kyodo Yushi announced.

Base Oils from Plastic

A group of American researchers claimed last month to have developed a catalyst that effectively recycles plastic grocery bags into lubricating oil and wax.

Q3: Calumet, Cosan, Valvoline, Quaker, Milacron

Calumet Specialty Products Partners, Cosans Moove lubricants segment and Quaker Chemical each reported net losses, while Milacrons Fluid Technologies segment posted a loss in operating earnings for the third quarter. Valvolines operating income from its three segments increased year-over-year for the quarter ending Sept. 30.

Bradford, Pennsylvania-based American Refining Group named Gisela Miller director of sales. Miller – who served as president of D-A Lubricant Co. from 2009 to 2018 – joined ARG in early 2019 as a consultant in support of its sales team, was named interim director of sales in July and was selected recently to fill the role permanently. Castrol recently announced a long term strategic partnership with Driven Brands and quick lube chain Take 5 Oil Change, integrating training, service and marketing efforts. Logistics professional April Goins joined the domestic service team of MFG Chemical, a specialty and custom chemical manufacturer based in Dalton, Georgia.
