ASTM Tackles Tractor Fluid Spec

Adding its weight to recent efforts to rid the tractor lubricant market of poor quality products, ASTM International announced last week that it will develop a minimum performance standard for tractor hydraulic fluids.

Profits Up for Afton, Down for Quaker Chem, Steady for Valvoline

Afton Chemicals petroleum additives segment posted higher operating profit, while Quaker Chemical and HollyFrontiers lubricants segment recorded weaker financial results for the quarter ended June 30. Valvolines performance was level with the same period of 2018, while Clean Harbors Safety-Kleen segment had higher revenues.

NLGI Pursues Future Grease Specs

The National Lubricating Grease Institute yesterday announced a collaboration with the Center for Quality Assurance to define future grease specifications that will better reflect advancements in materials, technologies and applications.

Bolton Oil Co. sold six oil change locations in Lubbock, Texas, to Take 5 Oil Change, which owns and operates stores in several states across the country.
