Brazil’s Lube Market Rebounds

Lubricant demand in Brazil jumped to 399,000 metric tons for the first four months of this year, a 5 percent increase compared to the same period of 2018. The results buoyed expectations for the market, which swelled slightly in 2018 after four years of big declines.

Thirst for Natural Gas Engine Oils Grows

Demand for engine oil used in natural gas engines is projected to grow over the next few years as governments push for cleaner fuel alternatives, according to a market report by consultancy firm Kline & Co.

Sol Shutters Jamaica Distributorship

Sol Petroleum Jamaica Ltd., a subsidiary of a Shell lubricants macro distributor, will shut down its lubricants business effective June 30 after its parent company decided to discontinue operations in the Caribbean island country.
