Approvals Cease for P Industrial Lubes

The laboratory that provided testing and certification for P hydraulic fluid and gear oil specifications has ceased operations, signaling the possible start of a phase-out period for some of the industrys oldest active industrial lube standards.

U.S. Wind Power Capacity Grew in 2018

The United States wind power capacity grew 8 percent in 2018 to more than 96,400 megawatts, and demand from non-utility buyers grew a record amount, the national trade association for the U.S. wind industry announced last month.

Profits Up for Calumet, Cosan

Calumet Specialty Product Partners L.P. reported net income of more than $16 million for the first quarter, much improved from a net loss in the year-earlier period. Moove - Cosans lubricants production and distribution arm - posted large increases in net revenue and net income for the quarter.

Infineum U.S.A. L.P. appointed J.A.M. Distributing, a Brenntag Group company, as its sole distributor in the United States and Canada effective May 1. The agreement extends an existing partnership which saw Multisol, another Brenntag unit, appointed as Infineum’s distributor in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Chevron Phillips Chemical announced Mitch Eichelberger will become senior vice president of corporate planning and technology effective June 1. Eichelberger will succeed Dave Smith, who is retiring. Fort Washington, Pennsylvania-based lubricants distributor PetroChoice acquired Mobil lubricants distributor Superior Petroleum of Crown Point, Indiana.
