German lubricant marketer Liqui Moly announced last week that it had been acquired by Adolf Wuerth GmbH & Co. in a deal intended to ensure stability for Liqui Molys future.

Italmatch Forms Additives Unit

Italmatch said the new unit, named Lubricant Performance Additives will work to create new additive packages using the combined chemistries of Elco and Italmatch.

Evonik to Divest Methacrylate Business

German specialty chemicals producer Evonik announced last month that it is considering the sale of its methacrylates business. The company advised, though, that the divestment will not affect its oil additives business, which supplies lubricant additives.

Swedish Surfactants Plant Expands

Nouryon announced Aug. 27 that it will double capacity at its surfactants plant in Stenungsund, Sweden, through a 12-million expansion and upgrade scheduled for completion by 2021s first quarter. The expanded plant will produce corrosion inhibitors and surfactants for the lubricants market.

Croda Acquires Rewitec

Croda International Plc announced last week the acquisition of Rewitec GmbH, stating it aims to help the German additive supplier to expand. The companies did not disclose the price of the transaction.

UK Additives Firm Opens Plant

Lubricant additives supplier SBZ Corp. opened a manufacturing facility and laboratory in Wickford, United Kingdom, to accommodate growing demand from blenders doing business in international markets.

Lubrizol Working to Reopen Rouen Plant

A month after a blaze roared through two Lubrizol warehouses in Rouen, France, the company is still working to reopen its manufacturing facility there.
