Lukoil China Lube Sales Go Online

In a bid to improve its marketing strategy in China, Lukoil recently introduced online lubricant sales aimed at the countrys most developed regions.

Starting May, Lukoils passenger car and commercial vehicle lubricants can be found on sale on Tmall.com, one of the biggest Chinese e-commerce platforms. We are targeting those regions where logistics and road infrastructure is most developed – the east coast, Central China and Inner Mongolia, LLK International told Lube Report last week. Lukoils Chinese online sales are operated by Suifenhe Wanfengyuan Economic and Trade, our official dealer in the country.

LLK is Russian oil major Lukoils lubricants arm.

The companys products sold online are made in Russia and exported to China. Our dealer and its subsidiary, Luxe Lubricants from Shangai, organize the import procedure, accept the online orders and ship the products to our customers using logistic partners, Lukoil said.

At the moment Chinese customers can order Lukoils Luxe-branded synthetic and semi-synthetic products, Avantgarde-branded diesel engine motor oils, as well as a line of transmission oils.

Western retailers and marketers of lubricants are increasingly present on Chinas burgeoning e-commerce market. Tmall.com holds around 50 percent share of the Chinese annual $300 billion business-to-consumer e-commerce market, and the company hopes it can help its marketing strategy for boosting its presence in China.

Lukoils lubricants entered the Chinese market in 2011.
